Our roots run deep into the rich soil of Ghanaian Presbyterianism. The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, itself was established through the dedicated work of the Norddeutsche Missionsgesellschaft (Bremen Mission) from Germany, with the first missionaries arriving in the Volta Region in the 19th century. This heritage has given us a reformed theological foundation, a commitment to strong education, and a spirit of resilience and self-reliance.

A Community Takes Root

The EPCG Adenta congregation was established to cater to the growing spiritual needs of the vibrant and expanding Adenta community. As a suburb of Accra, Adenta became home to many seeking a place of worship that balanced deep theological conviction with practical, everyday ministry. Our church was planted to be that spiritual home—a place where faith is both intellectually robust and personally transformative. From our earliest days, we have been blessed with leadership that embodies this dual commitment. Our ministers have been individuals called to integrate rigorous scholarship with heartfelt service, ensuring that our teachings are biblically sound and relevant to the lives of our members.

The Adenta Chapter

The character of our church has been shaped by the dedication of our pastors and leaders, who mirror the values of our denomination:

A Foundation of Scholarship: Following in the tradition of EPCG scholars like Rev. Prof. Dorothy BEA Akoto, our church values deep engagement with Scripture. We believe that thoughtful interpretation of the Bible, informed by fields like hermeneutics and cultural studies, equips us to live out our faith with wisdom and clarity in a complex world.
A Heart for Service and Administration: Under the guidance of pastors like Rev. Gilbert Yaw Nachim, our church has developed a strong ethos of practical ministry. His background in sociology, education, and public administration reflects our commitment to being a church that is not only spiritually vibrant but also well-organized, socially conscious, and actively involved in the development and well-being of our community.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.
